Maybe they wanted the North vs the South .

    ya so dump darren
wtf has he ever done in world golf

the only reason to bring lowry along is so we can direct abuse at someone?
weak field if you ask me

i thought we'd move on from a north -v- south approach as well
i hope it doesn't lead to a re-emergence of the troubles

    It's not North v South. It's us v them.

Pound for pound it's a strong field. Lowry and Harrington have at least 5st on 'them'.

I see your point on gmac-barely. He's more U.S. than North.

Is it Lowry's good looks that get to you or his privileged upbringing?

i'm shouting for and backing the nordies on this one..

we should bring the lough erne challenge down to baltray in 2011 though and give them a good beating on home soil

does anyone know if the 18th green has been reopened yet?
a herd a cattle ran through it there about a year ago

You are not fit to lace Lowrys shoes, the day you win a European Tour event you can come on here an slag a winner until then, shut the hell up!

    Russian Roulette Matchplay.

Maybe Poulter could set up a stall at it and sell his winter range just like John Daly does at the masters.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,335 ✭✭✭conno16

john daly sells his stuff in the car park at the masters FYI

when IJP comes to Lough Erne the red carpet will be rolled out

I'd like to see Lough Erne being a little more creative with this competition - maybe run a knock-out euro championship with 1 representative from each country or something like that

or else incorporate a fishing and shooting competition
a new take on a triathlon

and here comes lowry out of the lake....

    Well spotted there Conor.

For anyone interested in this event heres where you can get tickets http://www.lougherneresort.com/golf/lough_erne_challenge_2010/

Its 30 pound for the day, so I suppose when you compare that to a six nations match or soccer international in the new aviva stadium which both can be very expensive, i would say its good value.

Dont worry the 18th green was fine the last time i was there. Not sure how cattle could even get to the 18th green as its just down from the hotel.

Great course if you ever get the chance to play.

Lowry did quite well at Adare this week.Joint 3rd, walked away with a nice few quid.I watched Poulter for 9 holes on Monday and I'd wager that Shane is every bit as good a ball striker, if not better.I mean, if Michael Flatley can push him close..

    Poults is a fraud!:D

that would be like lowry alright to walk away with the cash while everyone else put it back in the charity kitty

think of all those poor kids in tullamore wandering around without shoes or clothes
then big shane lowry heads off in his souped up honda civic
prob gonna blow his cash on a dream holiday to torremolinos

I think bar tiger he is the only player to win 2 World golf championships.

Going by some comments on here i assumed Poulter had fired a couple of 80s in Adare. I see he finished 5th after a 69 yesterday. If that's crap, i'll have some.

I love this trash talking about Poulter.. the guy is like 8th in the world. Higher than any other Irishman, give him some credit ffs.
And besides who cares about being a great ball striker, Darren Clarke was and more than likely still is a brilliant ball striker but has never really lived up to his full potential many would say. At least if Poulter is not a good ball striker (i cannot confirm or deny, never seen him play in the flesh) he's won some big events and got to the world's top 10. Lowry would be well happy with a similar career.

    Just having a laugh, relax.;)

In all honesty though I wouldn't count him as one of the more talented players out there.Great short game and tonnes of bottle get him by, but a great striker of the ball he isn't, plays a lot of mediocre golf.Great grinder though, a lot like Harrington.

Lads this Poulter chick deserves her position in the worlds top 10. She even came top 5 once in a major, no mean achievement considering she's only played in 30 them. Also winner of 1 stroke play tournament in the last 5 years. I’m telling you this girl is a phenomenon.

Tough man Conno hiding behind your keyboard, maybe you should head along to Lough Erne and let Lowry know how you feel about both his golf game and personal appearance... I'm sure he'd appreciate the advice of a fashion guru like yourself, especially one so adept in the art of playing for position with a 7-iron off every tee.....

Lowry is in top form at the moment and I can see him being a serious contender for the irish open.
