I recently had a hole in one at the 16th in Royal Dublin.I killed a driver 282 yards into the wind.If anyone else has had or played with anyone who has had a hole in one at a par four could they post here.I am interested to find out how many people in Ireland have had one.

That's some hole-in-one! Fair play. You must have had some shock when you got the the green.

Congrats! Just read about it on the Times Website. Some going, I played RD last Friday and birdied the 16th having hit a great drive and punched wedge into that same wind so your drive must have been a sight to behold!
I know a member in my club holed out on a short par 4, check out www.nationalholeinoneclub.org

Yeah it disappeared and I thought it had gone in a bunker. My playing partner said walking up to the green it must be in the hole and it was.

It was also my first hole in one in competition

    Cheers,

I didn't think I could get there unless I pured one and it was the best strike of drive I have ever hit which made it a little sweeter.

There have been a few at that hole in Royal Dublin but none in competition that I can remember. They lengthened the hole a few years ago to 282 from 260 off the medal tees.

What club was the other hole in one at?

I don't like short par 4's that can be reached in 1. That is all.

not sure how you saw the ball go in the hole on the 15th in old head......you can even see the green from the normal tees!

Drove a par 4 today downwind, then 3 putted, 317m from the tees I was playing off but the fairway is all downhill so you get a lot of run. 5th hole at The Island.

A Fair few par 4 hole in 1's in Wicklow as depending on conditions the 3rd and 5th are reachable in 1. On one particular day a 4 ball in competition had a 1, a 2, a 3 and a 4. I've seen a couple of people really close on the 3rd but I've never seen a hole in one on it. I've eagled it myself a few times. I've also eagled the 5th but never been close to a hole in one on either.

Played Dublin City on Friday & there is a sign on the 8th (Par 4 - 274Yds) naming a guy who had an albatross on the hole.

Arrived on the teebox for the 11th (Par 4 - 272yds) & there was another sign for an albatross. I didn't notice the second sign but one of the lads said it was the same guy's name on it.

....& no it wasn't the signmakers name!

Brother had one on the 8th in Tullamore, 330 yard par 4, dog legs a lot to the right, you can't even see the green from the tee, you just hit it over the tree's and hope. It was in competition too as far as i can remember.

Well done, Elbows. Nice one!

The only hole in one I ever had was at the 2nd in Macroom a few years ago.

I almost did as well as The Lone Rangeer at the 15th in The Old Head. Last year, I put my tee shot to about 6 inches.

I'll have to try harder next time! ;)
