Indy mechanic & warranty

Considering getting my first service on the new car done at my local indy mechanic. Have used him before with other cars and he does a great job. The service I've had with main dealers has been nothing short of appaling so want to avoid ever dealing with them again....so am I mad to consider going down this route and has anyone experienced any warranty issues using non dealer servicing?

I wouldn't, TBH. Technically you can do it without voiding the warranty, as long as you can prove that manufacturer-approved parts were used, but it's potentially a lot of hassle if you do need warranty work. A first service is probably only oil & filters, so i'd ask myself how badly can a main dealer mess that up? What car is it?

Yeah its only oil & filters but a main dealer did manage to badly over fill the oil on a previous car. Its a 2010 Mitsubishi Outlander

I agree, three or four years down the road if something happens and you're asking Mitsubishi to do something under warranty/goodwill it will not aid your claim.

As above, it's not mandatory to go to a dealer but just saves the hassle down the road.

I would use the indy guy. Don't let the big guys bulldose you into using them.

Will have a think about it. The only dealer option is Westbrooks in Dublin as I won't be dealing with the gargage I bought from due to appaling previous service....anyone have anything good/bad to say about Westbrooks?
