Is a mowing arm a good option for topping.

Problem is I have no room in shed for a topper, would a mowing arm be more durable

I was thinking of the old style mowing arm associated with for example a grey ferguson.

Is what is in the pic a similar machine. What is the cost of machine in pic

They will do a job and a good job if you have a sharp blade

They'll do the job but they'll break your heart. You have to drive really slow with them, they only cut 4 foot wide, unless you get a really fresh one you will have problems with sections on the blade, driving rod problems etc. etc. A good second hand topper won't cost too much more and will be easier on your heart at least.
