No news on any teams yet, should be an interesting game, both teams concentrating on a few years down the line rather than this year although both would see winning this game as a step forward. Interesting that 2 club mates face each other, come Saturday evening 1 Magpie will stand, 1 will fall :)

He'd be a loss if he is out. Very good hurler.

Think Clare will sneak this one myself. Dublin were awful against KK and I think Clare will just have enough.

Bit of a joke of a crowd there (says he sitting on the sofa :)), there seems to be a strong wind, almost seems like a challenge match, especially with the ref's whistle echoing through the ground

I didn't realise that if Offaly win today that the winners of this play Antrim

2 long distance frees harmlessly wide, times like this reminds you what a great player Seanie was

Pat V is a big loss, why were they showing Jonathan Clancy on the replay? Nickey back on now, I hope he doesn't worsen his back

If they don't improve soon they won't have to worry about not being available for any other matches

Clare half forward line is getting cleaned at the moment. Clare need to get a few points to settle themselves

6 points in 35 minutes of championship hurling is awful stuff. Sparrow is going to kill them at half time

Why was Seanie Collins taken off? He didn't look injured to me and he was doing a lot more than Clancy, our half forwards aren't at the races

I would have thought it would have been worth while to bring Markham back half back and move Diarmaid up

Dublin running riot here. Clare need to mark up better and get tighter on Dotsy, McCrabbe and others or else Dublin could put up a huge score.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators, Regional Midwest Moderators Posts: 24,028 Mod ✭✭✭✭Clareman

Here goes, they can't get much worse can they?

This is some performance since half time, almost like backs and forwards, there's a long time left though

I was just about to say well done goalie for dealing with the first ball, then.... idiot

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,618 ✭✭✭baldbear

Agh Jaysus inexperience from the goaie. Could be a killer blow.

The young goalie will learn from that mistake, shouldn't have come off the line. Hes been good otherwise

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,100 ✭✭✭Browney7

That was an awful mistake. This stoppage could take the wind out of their sails. Clare have been unlucky with injuries it has to be said

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators, Regional Midwest Moderators Posts: 24,028 Mod ✭✭✭✭Clareman

Break and goal not great for Clare, Donnellan a huge loss though, hopefully Gerry Q can last the rest of the game.

    CMON LADS

Very well worked goal by dublin there. Hopefully it won't become a farce of a scoreline now!

Only his first season at senior level, so excuse me if I don't go baying for his blood. His replacement has made many howlers over the years.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators, Regional Midwest Moderators Posts: 24,028 Mod ✭✭✭✭Clareman

Yeah, he's a good goalie, he just lost the head a bit there, he came out for a ball just before letting that 1 in and did well, he thought he could do it again, plenty other players made mistakes that didn't get punished, hopefully the lads can come back on Wednesday night. I've a feeling it'll be the last time we'll see Markham and Quinn in Clare jersey's today

Get rid of Fiach O'Loughlin.. the County Board need to hire someone who knows what they are doing i.e. Qualified Strength and Conditioning coach

They were knackered out there.. just like Dublin were before Kilkenny.. silly methods!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,659 ✭✭✭unknown13

Dublin were very good and there half back line was very good. They have some quality players and in a few years will be going places unlike the footballers.

Antrim next up. I thought Clare would have made it tougher after their display against Waterford. Early in the second half was when they made any real impression. Dublin should take Antrim and who knows after that. Interesting times ahead.

Yea that was sweet. Makes up for the fruitless road trips to Offaly and Waterford that you and I suffered earlier this year.

Lets hope for a home draw against antrim. I wouldnt fancy them up north.

Dublin played well today against an up and coming Clare team, however I think the way the played at the start of the second half will have some alarm bells ringing for the management team. It was the same in the Kilkenny match, we were good up till half time and never got going in the second half, I think the management will need to address that. The goal changed things in Dublins favour, until that went in Dublin were struggling, but once they got that they got going again.

Looking forward now to the next game against Antrim and then who knows after that. Looks like the hurlers could go further than the footballers.
