    Hey guys,

    Saw these clouds over Cahir, Co. Tipperary and am not sure what they are....your cloud identifying genius needed please!!

    A form of lenticular cloud I'd suggest?

    Yep, lenticular. When they form completely they often resemble UFOs. They tend to form at very high altitudes (much higher than that of rain clouds).

    Nice shot. They look very much like the classic Altocumulus Lenticularis.

    Or a mongerel cloud made up of Ac Lenticularis and Undulatus. There seems to be too much wavelike regularity for pure lenticularis, yet not quite enough for undulatus! Maybe we could call it "Ac Undulicularis" (a memory aid would be "under-lick-your-arses!") :lol:

    I don't know about the clouds but the building is at a funny angle compared to its base, has this distortion of the image affected how the clouds have turned out in the photo?
