Some 400 jobs could be under threat after a receiver was appointed to CItywest Hotel, it emerged this evening.
Citywest Hotel, one of the biggest hotels in Europe, comprises 1,730 hotel rooms, suites and apartments; two golf courses and a large convention centre. It employs some 400 people.
Bank of Scotland (Ireland) Limited has appointed Martin Ferris of Ferris & Associates as receiver to the company HSS, trading as Citywest Hotel, Golf and Leisure.

A statement issued this evening said Mr Ferris intends appointing an operator to continue trading the business as a going concern.

HSS consists of Citywest Hotel, Conference Centre, Leisure and Golf Resort. The appointment also includes the assets of Jeffel, a land holding company

If this is the case, then young Mansfield is better off without her.

Last week it was mentioned on Six One News that one of Jim's sons signed a personal guarantee in relation to another company and he claimed that he did not understand the meaning of the guarantee!

I couldn't be more pleased to see Mansfield, a carpetbagger and one of the Celtic Tigers more shady gangsters going down.......

A man fond of building confrence centres (or anything he liked) without planning permission and flying god knows what in and out of his private airport.

either a chopper or an airplane:eek: on a serious note though i heard about him building the conference centre without planning permission.
which in my veiw is a two fingure salute to the processes in place, i just hope that the airport can be saved as there is a lot of other small companies based there which could have a knock on affect regarding jobs.

The paper is up the ar** of these individuals and anything you read in it bar for one or two individuals like Kerrigan and Ross should be treated as propaganda.

Ah now be fair he had rented the aircraft I believe.

He did extend the runway without getting permission much like building his conference centre.
It was very weird being shouted at not to land on the beginning sector because it was not certified as in use.

No it didn't, I aimed at near the beginning of runway as would be the norm and was told don't land there it's not active, so I had to float on for for a bit.
Twas weird and must have caught out lots of visiting pilots.

Ehh no sadly, it was in a beat up old Cessna 152 which might actually have been the one that later was involved in a crash.

And in case you think everyone that ever went flying in Weston was rich, a developer or a spanner head like jim corr, I and a good few more people that have ever flown there don't fit in those categories.

BTW if it was chopper I wouldn't be lining up on runway, nevermind the section I couldn't use ;)

    Fianna Fail sucklers

Conor Lenihan was able to interupt his hols yesterday to comfort Jim-bob

    Oh and....

in same article - receiver said saving the jobs was a priority

Give over Mr Receiver - The only reason receivers get appointed is to protect the banks interests not to save jobs

Are we all becoming too gullable!?!?
