I gotta say the majority of stuff i dont (especially from any Murdoch outlet and any red top).

are there any respectable newspapers left that try to report the news as opposed to try make it a là the S*n. The sunday newspapers are worse.

Sky News' impression of Fox News is getting better every day.

And finally the daily mail is a ****e rag... although im not sure if its against the forum charter to mention that newspaper here.

I find it very hard to believe anything i read or see anymore as there always seems to be some vested interest behind it.

Never believe a thing I see in the media. Weather reports? Bunch of liars and frauds. Feck off with your self important swagger telling me it's gonna be sunny, I'm bringing my coat out of spite.

There's no World Cup on at the moment. It's all computer generated lies. Sure Diego Maradona has been dead for years but yet they had him running around the sidelines like he'd never overdosed on cocaine in 2002.

They should check their facts before they try and pull a fast one on AnonoBoy.

I'll let you know when I read the newspaper next.

The Irish media, printed, audio and televised, are are influenced to a dangerous extent by groups such as the Reform Alliance and Iona Institute. Their job is to ensure people are confused divided and have no self belief or view themselves in a positive light.

In short, I wouldnt believe anything especially so - called analysis, opinion pieces or political reports. Lies, spin, outright propaganda, that would have shocked Goebbels.

    Thats just my opinion.

I believe what BBC say about America.

I believe what CNN say about the UK.

I believe whatever RTE say about Brian Cowen (esp if they're made to apologise publicly by him for performing their public duty).

I'd have more faith in RTEs news than most media as they just report dull as doughnuts just what happened stuff. There seems to be no emotion at all in the RTE room.

    Everything else is horse shyte.

At least getting your news from AH means you've heard more angles on the storey than any other news source and you make up your own mind.

No, I believe nothing I hear from the Irish media.

There's a few sites like alternet.org which i'd put more trust in for global news on wars etc. But while funded independently, they still have some very blatent agendas you have to see past.
Apart with that, I find the onion network to be very good.

What kind of emotion? You mean American style sensationalism and biased views?

I prefer my news without emotion from those presenting it. If there's emotion it usually would mean that it would be biased to a certain side, no?

    Just my 2c. ;)

Dont buy Newspapers anymore, the internet contains all the news I need for free. The beauty of the internet is that it is harder for Media Companies to write a BS article without being caught out. Plus you have the news as it happens on the Web, and is interesting to get people's views/thoughts/reaction to an article.

    YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!!!!

Son, we live in a world that has stories And those stories have to be reported on by men with pens. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinberg? The media have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for The Irish Press and you curse the Media. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know: that The Irish Press's death, while tragic, probably saved lives. And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves lives...You don't want the truth. Because deep down, in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me in that media. You need me in that media.
We use words like honor, respectable, Murdoch...we use these words as the backbone to a life spent defending something. You use 'em as a punchline. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very information I provide, then questions the manner in which I provide it! I'd rather you just said thank you and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a pen and write an article. Either way, I don't give a damn what you think you believe.

Newspapers: No. But i do read the tabloids for entertainment value and fantasy.

News Channels: Yes, except for anything from America or Al Jazeera.

In general im smart enough to see if a media outlet is pushing an agenda on me and im able to think for myself. Unlike a lot of people who do fall for these agenda's and people who try to accuse everybody left right and center of falling for an agenda. For example "Ha, you're reading the sun too much" or "You must believe fox news". I think people who fall for media agenda's and people who accuse others of falling for media agenda's are both complete thicko's and is the lowest form of debate.

I enjoy reading and watching anything from Bill O'Reilly, but im smart enough know exactly what he is trying to do.

Depends on the source. I'll get headlines from the usual news places, but only headlines. 99% of what's on news television is a lot of rubbish talk that says nothing. I don't like any of the Sky News anchors, so I usually check out what's happened in the world while I was asleep before work and then check some places on tinternet when I get into work. There are a few journalists and commentators I read. They tend to be non-mainstream, but at least they know what they're talking about.

Do I believe everything that I read in the papers - especially the rag ones?

Absolutely not. I would be an idiot to.
At the end of the day, they are there to make a profit for someone regardless of their individual journalist skills.

And where do Internet sites get most of their news from? The supposedly wicked and inept old news media- The Irish Times, The Irish Independent, RTE etc. These are still the prime sources of news.
