2010 Irish Under-21 Matchplay Championship

    The 2010 Irish Under-21 Matchplay Championship will take place at the Green Isle Hotel, Newland's Cross, Dublin, on Saturday, August 28th., and two Irish players will qualify on the day to compete in the last 64 of the PDC Unicorn World Under-21 Championship.

    The final of the Under-21 World Championship will be held at Alexandra Palace in London on January 3rd., 2011, and will be televised live on Sky Sports TV before the final of the Ladbrokes.com World Championship.

    The age limits for the Under-21 Championship are over 16 years and under 22 years on January 3rd., 2011.

    The two players that qualify on August 28th. will compete in the last 64 of the PDC Unicorn Under-21 World Championship in Barnsley on November 6th. and the last two players on that date will compete in the Grand Final live on Sky Sports TV at Alexandra Palace in London on January 3rd., 2011.

    NONE of the Qualifiers or the eventual Champion will be compelled to join the PDPA or sign a PDC contract.

    Come on lads, this is the opportunity you have been waiting for to get on the big stage - - - get your entries in on time !

    What would you except the standard to be like at this. Like how many darts would they finish each leg in

    Some of the players are as good as the mens i'd say, others not so good. The like of Paddy Meaney and Martin Heneghan will more than likely be there. Martin is still the current INDO mens no.1 I think.

    You should go along and see for yourself, even if some of the stronger players are out of your league a- its great experience for you, b- every player in the country is capable of throwing average darts and being beaten, c- you could have the best day of your darting life and throw unreal darts and win it anyway. You'll never know unless you give it a bash.

    Go and enjoy yourself.. As Padr said, u never know what cud happen on the day.... Plus, its all part of the game, winning or losing..

    Every player should have a go and even if you are out of your depth initially the experience will stand to you in the long run !

    There only the lads i wud know, but im guessing 1 of them 4 will take at least 1 of the spaces, but god only knows what will happen in this game...

    42 players entered for the Irish Under-21 Matchplay on Saturday - - - should be a great competition.

    Reminder - - - 2.00pm check-in and 3.00pm start and don't forget the dress code !!!

    42 players from around the country competed in the Irish Under-21 Matchplay Championship on Saturday and the results are as follows - - -

    Sean McArdle 3 - 4 Micheal Connolly
    David Coyne 4 - 2 Anthony McMahon
