Move from 8ms to 40ms LCD television for gaming - big noticeable difference?

I've currently got a Sony Bravia KDL-V2000 32" that I got 5 years ago as our main gaming television (Xbox 360, PS3) in our back room. The label on the front of it reads 8ms response.

I'm thinking of replacing it with a Sony Bravia KDL-40EX403, which reviews give it a 40ms response time. That somewhat surprised me, as it seemed a tad high in comparison.

Anyone use the 40EX403 for gaming? Is the difference in response truly so high that fast gaming would be hindered by the newer model?

Sorry for the newbie questions.. :o

The 403 is in the entry level or "essential" series from Sony.
It should be a 4/6ms(sorry average) response on screen. However it does suffer input lag according to HDtv test of 40ms on all modes.
According to them its noticeable on FPS

Thanks. I guess I'll give this one a miss, will look at the ones higher up in the range.
