Travelling from Barcelone to Venice

    Hey there
Thinking of maybe travelling from Barcelone to Venice, was hoping to do it in an RV but the prices are bit on the high side (2K+). Priced a car but its even higher again. Anyone know of good sites where you could get a good deal on something like this? It would be a one way journey (and with just two people travelling) which is probably jacking up the price... thought this request for help was worth a punt though!

I was actually just looking at this last night, the main problem with hiring a car is the cross-border fee, which made the car 5 times more expensive.

We're now thinking of getting a train from Barcelona over the border to France, renting a car there for France cos that's where we'll spend most of the time, and then maybe a train from the border over to Italy again, or another car rental maybe.

It's a bit of a pain! Anyone found a way to avoid the one-way fee or have any other suggestions?

I'm sure there's probably some reason why you want to drive.
But just to let you know you can fly on Vueling. I flew from Barcelona to Venice in February for about €80 one way.

+1 for taking a train, unless there's a specific reason you'd like to drive. It costs about 140 euro to travel by train from Barcelona through France to Turin (where I am!) in the North of Italy, I'd imagine then it'd be around 150 Barcelona-Milan, 170 Barcelona-Rome etc I've taken this journey as far as Nice in France, at least this part is quite scenic, runs along the Ligurian coast in parts, goes through mountains in others. You could break up the journey along the way if you wanted to, and it's probably less stressful than driving.
