Does anyone know of a company like http://www.crocksandpots.co.uk/ in Ireland?

Hope someone has a few pointers, need more proper equipent like jars and seals for pickling etc and hope there may be an economical option somewhere, postage from UK outside of my budget.

    Cheers

    Simon

The cheapest way of getting preserving jars is to collect the ones with lids that 'pop' when opened; Jam jars, pickle jars etc. Mayonnaise jars are no good. After cleaning and sterilizing them, fill with your prepared food and put the lids on - stick the jars into a deep saucepan with boiling water and keep boiling until the lids pop forming the seal. Problem with this technique is that if you need them now, you should have been collecting already!
