Free room upgrade voucher on Tripadvisor

    Hi everyone
Me and my boyfriend are going on holidays to Malta in two weeks and we've already booked our hotel. I went on to look at the hotel on TripAdvisor today and there's a voucher for a free room upgrade if we just print it out and present it upon check in.

Just wondering if anyone has ever used one of these?? I know people email hotels prior to their stays a good bit and ask for an upgrade if theres available rooms, but I don't know much about these vouchers and if the hotel will actually entertain our request!

Thanks a million for any thoughts!:)

    Welcome to Boards.ie :)

Can you link to the upgrade? Normally there is no problem with using these though often it depends on if they have rooms available or not.

Thanks, thats what I thought really, I just needed assurance! I was thinking of emailing ahead to say I had this voucher but hopefully it'll be ok once I check in!

I suppose it couldn't do any harm.

The voucher thing is pretty popular, esp. in the USA where you can pick up magazines full of them at gas-stations.
