sky+ remote control not working-tried everything??

My remote control doesn't seem to be working. I've tried everything, changed batteries, left batteries out for 5 mins, reset box, reset control to factory settings then with tv code.
Red light comes on remote when I press any of the buttons but doesn't control sky or tv.
I can control the sky box from the buttons on the front of the box which works fine, its just the remote control. Control is not that old maybe 3 months don't have receipt Don't fancy buying another remote or getting sky to come out until I've tried everything, anyone any other ideas... thanks

Put the remote in front of a camera phone or digital camera with the IR sensor facing the camera. When you press a button can you see a white glow on the phone/camera screen? If not then it's either the batteries or a faulty remote.

ya need a new remote... Head to argos!! Has happened me a gud few times!! The remotes cost a gud bit tho - so be prepared to pay at least €30!1

How old is your Sky Remote. I know that we had issues with some Faulty Sky + Remote Controls going back to early this year. If within a year covered by warranty.

Open her up.. blow on it, shake it a bit, look like you know something about circuits... then put it back together.

Well finally rang sky, after doing everything that I'd already done he convinced me it was the box not the remote. €100 for someone to call out or 'better off going with hd box'.. yeah right! Got loan of a remote worked fine, new remote is all I need.. so saved myself €100
