Anglo Irish - Worst bank in the world in 2009
LOSSES posted by Anglo Irish Bank are the worst by any bank in the entire world, according to new data from a prestigious financial journal.

The taxpayer-owned bank's loss in 2009 of €15bn was far bigger than those of giant US, Japanese and German banks, according to 'The Banker', an industry magazine listing the 25 biggest losses.

Seanie enjoying the fruits of his labors and nearly wins Captains prize.
Last weekend, the silver-haired career banker was showing no sign of having learned any of the harsh lessons of the recession, as he enlisted the help of event rental specialists Select Hire for a party at his substantial home in Greystones, Co Wicklow.

The Sunday Independent has also learned that the former Anglo boss found himself on the receiving end of harsh words from a heckler as he stepped up to take his prize for second place in the prestigious Captain's Prize at Greystones Golf Club recently.

Can the f**kwits in Dail Eireann not see the wood from the trees. Rub these monsters out, pursue them at any cost, turf them out of their homes and they will gain in the polls...The country is looking for a reason not to vote for shovel head Enda but they just wont step up.

    Sigh.

One week's unemployment benefit would just about cover the cost of this man's compliment of foie gras and caviar for the day. A nurse's pay packet for the month might stretch to the bottom shelf of his wine rack.

This is basically the untouchable elite pulling out their collective cock and píssing all over a country on its knees.

...Before they are elected by the docile sheep - or rewarded for favours given and given a seat in the Senate.

The non-advocation of GBH aside, I personally feel it's only a matter of time before Seanie or Ivor or the like encounters an unpleasant encounter publicly.

The country are now acting as prop(strained) to keep the back upright, it's coming directly out of our wages and our of social welfare cuts etc so it's fair to say every facet of the ordinary decent folk are stakeholders.

I tell what I'd love to do to Seanie, get his putter and wrap it around a tree. As a golfer I know that the putter holds the highest emotional value. If he was to protest I'd tell him to go talk to the people that were emotionally attached to their homes.

Can the f**kwits in Dail Eireann
    the f**kwits in the Dail.....

They knew exactly what they were doing! Don't be fooled by spin or whatever. This advert should be remade with pictures of the Gormley and Cowen, extending their noses at every question asked about Anglo.

No. However, without a shadow of a doubt, it is time for real change & for people to be held accountable for their actions & mistakes.

But to me, there still has to be some recognition by us, as a country & as a nation, that we also have to bear a certain amount of collective culpability.

Everyone these days has an opinion on the business of politics, current affairs, banks & developers etc. Everyone's knowledge of all these things has increased dramatically from say, five years ago, where I guarantee, the majority of people wouldn't have known one minister from the next. The talk in the local pub was never about politics or the economy... in fact, if you brought up such subjects, you'd be frowned upon.

I am glad to see that this has changed, but sad to see what it has taken for people to realise that politics are not simply a matter that should be left to the politicians to look after.

We live in a democracy & if we are to have our say about how things are run, we have to be aware & educated on poltical matters and above all, we have to make out voices heard, in whatever way, shape or form - be that at campaigning to the Dail, or getting involved with politics at a local level.

It's easy to forget those things in the good times & take our eye off the ball, but hopefully, that will be one lesson that we take from all this.

It's disgraceful, fuckers like this get away with robbery.

This is the reason why I'm celebrating Bastille Day and the French Revolution! As much as everyone hates the French over Henry, they stopped taking shit in 1789 and took on the Bourbon dynasty.

I'm also encouraged by the interest in politics generated by this economic climate, however it's also important to point out that many are just regurgitating tabloid headlines and taking what they see at face value. Many/most/all are angry (rightly so) and are looking for political blood...I myslef am looking to see some hurt and humiliation doled out to the deserving...'Poor' Oul Ivor springs to mind.

No we cannot fully blame our politicians for the economic mess. The majority splurged, willingly increased prices, sought credit (hands were not forced when it comes to mortgages in my opinion)....numerous reasons to blame me and you...One thing separates us from them(politicians) - we are taking our medicine, this was not a choice. Our cheeks are being squeezed and the sour medicine is being poured down our throats.

Three names off the top of my scalp:

    Molloy
    Neary
    Fitzpatrick

Criminals operating in the clear light of day. Criminals that are living privileged lives, criminals that are still taking money out of my paypacket.

I just cannot come to terms with the these open sores, when I start to wonder if they are viewed as closed cases by Cowen and co. I feel ill. These bastards need to be brought to account, in public...then throttled and stripped of all pensions, homes, cars....etc where it is warranted. Some will argue that this has happened, bollox it has. Molloy bloody admitted all the wastage and excess in public and was sent on his way with an Audi and €1 million...Neary did EPIC FAIL re: the interview and subsequent collapse of the banks. Oh Hai Mr. Neary, would you like a 6 figure pension?? And Oul Seanie, sure isnt he just a bloody rascal.

I'll summarize by simply stating that to have an iota of hope in their political futures, Cowen and co. must get the whip and and make some folks hurt..the political flogging of developers, bankers and politicians has to take place to appease the general public.

It's not the answer, but christ it would make me feel and sleep a little better to know that Seanie couldnt afford his yearly sub at Greystones GC.

    Sigh.

A few months ago some "hippies" protested Anglo-Irish, and after years of belly-aching about the state of things, by people on this forum, those "hippies" were lambasted by the majority of posters on this forum.

The people of this country literally wouldn't know a punch in the face even while they were picking their teeth off the ground.

    Don't hold your breath buddy!
