Following on from todays attack on youtube and googling the reasons behind it I ended up at an article by the UK Independent newspaper / website detailing 4Chans recent activities to try send Justin Bieber to North Korea - those crazy kids eh ;)

Anyway what made me stop and think was the following line describing Justin Bieber ...
a 16-year-old heartthrob pop sensation, responsible for bunching more teen female panties than any act since the Hanson Brothers

So at my age mid 30's I've become accustomed to hearing slang terms from the younger generation that I've not heard before but this is the first time I've come across it in what would presumably be a paper aimed at those above the age of 18.

So considering my rather filthy mind has interpeted the above in a manner I'm sure the paper didn't mean have you come across any new slang expressions lately that made you feel old ?

I'm also aware that posting a thread like this is a sign of being old too ;)

A 30 year old coming across teen female panties in a bunch......... never.

Seriously, you've never heard the expression "don't get your panties in a bunch"?

Is there something wrong with the Indie? It beats the crap out of the Daily Mail. :D

I think people are confusing the UK independent with its Irish namesake

They used to have the same proprietor but not anymore (thankfully)

The UK one is actually pretty good as the prevailing standards go in this part of the world

The Irish Independent and its vomit - inducing Sunday version are indeed kind of like the Daily Mail, - poorly written sensationalised Right wing trash, but instead of hating foreigners and muslims for instance, they direct the bile and venom towards Irish people.
