Now I know the best way is wait to see if you get the dreaded letter in the post but aside from that, here's my question...

This morning at half 9, garda with handheld (looked like a large supermarked pricing gun with a viewfinder!) standing inside in the bustop on the Rock Road in Dublin (citybound just before Booterstown DART Station).
I saw his car before I even saw him and had slowed down but as I approached him he took the "gun" away from his eye and held it down to the ground as if re-adjusting or something.
My first hope is that I was under the limit...my second that if I was over it, he had the particular speed gun which necessitated him to stop me to charge me/impose the fine.

    Any ideas/opinions? Thanks!

You should be fine... the cameras used that record reg plates etc... (other than GATSOs) require to be tripod mounted (for controlled motion and other reasons)...
