Grinding noise when starting car?

Hi guys, I drive a 2003 VW Beetle with 60,000 miles on it. About 90% of the time when I start the car I hear a grinding sound, it lasts 2 seconds. I've never had a problem starting the car, it always starts fine it's just this noise that's bothering me. I think it could be the starter sticking or something but I'm clueless about cars so I'd really appreciate some help with this.

You can hear the grinding noise it this youtube video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=euxINPYszdg&feature=related

    Thanks in advance :)

Same thing happens to my '90 Micra (in fact, it was a common problem on those Micra's). It's apparently starter motor not engaging the flywheel properly. It's nothing serious, although it can be quite annoying at times.

On a VW I'd guess that it's the starter motor bush that is worn - usually you hear a grinding noise as the starter disengages.
