Basically I am in 6th year, I am in Ukraine now and I get back to Ireland/Dublin on 23rd of August. I am 17. And I was wondering, where do I need to go or visit website to register for a theory test? I want a driving license for an ordinary car, category B I think? Also once I do theory test, when do I have driving test? And once I do driving test I am free of tests? ANd how long do I have to wait then to get full license?

    Another question is:

If I go to Ukraine by car, do I need to somehow register my car somewhere? Like get new numbers or can I leave the ones from Ireland? if I go only for like 3 months?

Insurance: Which is good insurance company? I heard a lot good things about AA but do they insure cars in Ireland?

    http://theorytest.ie/english/driver-theory-test/index.php to organise test.

6 months minimum after getting your theory you can do actual test. you'll also need an eye test to get licence. after that, thats it.

As for insurance it'll be a case of the cheapest you can get really at your age. Most companies provide similar cover and terms. Read all the T&C's of any quotes and ring around everywhere is your best bet.

for 3 months I'm not sure if you'd have to re-reg it, maybe not. depends on Ukraine law on this. Your Irishinsurance may not cover you for 3 months outside the state though so check this.

A learner permit will not allow you to drive outside the state either.
