I hate misleading titles. They are getting more and more common.

OP, you added the title just to get an effect.
Well it worked on me but not impressed
A new maximum charge of 32p per minute, down from 35p, will apply to all calls made while travelling within the European Union, while mobile phone operators are now obliged to place a €50 (£41.50) cap on all data roaming charges, unless specifically requested not to do so by the customer.

A mobile phone user’s network must now send a warning to the customer if they approach the data-roaming cap, and automatically cut the mobile phone’s internet connection if the cap is reached. While the cost of downloading data remains the same, the change should prevent travellers unwittingly running up huge bills for using the internet.
The charge for receiving calls while abroad has also been cut, to a maximum of 12.5p per minute, down from 15.5p.
The changes follow repeated calls by the European Commission for mobile phone networks to reduce their charges, and frequent reports of holidaymakers returning home to discover mobile phone bills totalling hundreds, or even thousands of pounds.
“Mobile phone companies were given ample opportunity to act on the cost of using phones in another EU country,” said Labour MEP Arlene McCarthy, who steered the law through the European Parliament. “In the end it has taken EU action on every issue - calling, texting and now data roaming - to bring prices down.”
However, about 60 per cent of Britons still believe the data-roaming cap should be lowered, according to a survey by the accommodation website Budgetplaces.com.
“The EU roaming cap is a positive step to prevent enormous bills on returning from abroad,” said a Budgetplaces.com spokesperson. “But ourresearch shows that UK travellers believe that the €50 cap is still too high.”

Dirty bastards, getting cheaper roaming charges from the government, while getting loads from selling petrol...

I had a very angry post all lined up in response to that title but it's useless now.

It's just as well. Travelers get enough benefits they don't deserve as it is.

Wireless companies are a pet peeve of mine. I relish any time they are taken down a peg.

Cos I mean ****, you go to Canada and check your email? $11,000 please, Adam Savage of Mythbusters.

They abuse their position in the market(s).

O2 can expect a mass exodus.

They are breaching the terms & conditions of their customers contracts.

Anyone on any O2 plan can leave them with out penalties applied even if they recently got an I phone out of the contract.

How are they on reading complete threads?

I guessed it was about roaming charges before clicking on the thread.. don't see how it could be misleading unless you're predisposed to interpreting the word traveler as itinerant

Its a UK tabloid, I dont think itinerants are called travellers in the UK.

I think they do call them travellers if they happen to be Irish, but Gypsies if they're not.

I don't think the media here could giving a flying fuck if they're irish; they always seem to be called Gypsies on the news

Only the minimum charge is increasing and not the cost per minute.

Tesco have a 20 cent minimum charge, hardly competitive now.

And are only referred to as itinerants by those who wish to demean them.

Was he asking for the derogatory term or were just looking for an excuse to use it?

Ah, but when you get double the credit each time you top up, it's really halved. I ditched O2 for Tesco a couple of weeks ago, and I've already saved millions of Euro. I did keep my old O2 number, to avoid embarassment though.:P

That depends on when & how you use your phone. I make most of my calls during the daytime to landlines, mon-fri & according to callcosts.ie, they are at least €30 per month cheaper than the next cheapest provider - 3Pay, and over €70 cheaper than Vodaphone.

This calculation does however, take into account the "free" credit, which brings the calls down to 10c per minute.
