Gearbox for 2003 Mondeo

    Hi guys,

    would anyone here have an idea on what a gear box would cost me on a 03 Ford Mondeo?

    Depends were you want it from, second hand or new? Also is your car petrol or diesel?. What engine size etc?

    Preferably new, its a 1.6 or 1.8 petrol as far as I know. Haven't bought it yet as want to see what this would cost me. cheers

    For a new one your talking €1000+ Your best bet would be second hand. Price would vary in every scrap yard but I got one with low enough miles in March for €250

    There was no 1.6 litre engine in the 2003 Mondeo. The smallest engine was 1.8 litre and there were 3 different types of the 1.8 litre available in that model Mondeo. 1.8 (110bhp) LX, 1.8 (125bhp) Zetec and 1.8 SCi (130bhp) Ghia. Two had a 5 speed and the other rarer SCi had a 6 speed box afaik. You will need the engine/chassis number first before buying a gearbox.

    Try Traynors up North for a second hand one.
