I think the Ibiza is great value at the moment was trying to get my mother to get one but she went for the i10 instead. The Ibiza have also gotten a fairly good review on Honest John as well.

I'd consider the Volkswagen Polo too tbh. You could easily get a new one for around 12k with the scrappage deal.

Spec on Polo would be well below the Ibiza

Mrs. R.O.R had an Ibiza in 2003 with the 1.2 engine. It was quite nippy around town, the spec was much better than an equivalent Polo (her first choice at the time) and it's soo much better looking than the Fabia.

Fuel consumption wasn't great if it was being used on the motorway. Between 32-34mpg as it was doing around 4,500rpm at 120km/h.

Only issue's we had were that the driver's door was slighlty mis-aligned (sorted under warranty at first service), and the knob to turn up the volume on the radio was so small that it was hard to actually get your hand on it when moving - even as a passenger!
