Any motor factors, any car accessory shop in a shopping centre, Halfords, some service stations. Price will depend on what they are designed to start. Ones for small petrols are cheaper than ones for large engines and diesels.

Tesco in Tallaght have some special offers on car stuff at the minute. They have cables about 2 metres long for 8euro, probably not the greatest quality in the world but will do the job. They had wiper blades all sizes 2 euro a good funnel 1 euro. Some hi-grade oil for half price and a few other bits and bobs, 1 other thing that comes to mind they had simonz dash cleaner a big spray can for 1.34 in a few different scents which i thought was great value.

No association with tesco's just thought people are always on the look out for a bargain for their motor.

Dunnes sell some lightweight ones... okay for a car I would imagine.

halfrauds would be a good place as they have then engine sizes/fuel type stated on the different types of cables

Whatever you do, DO NOT buy them in the E2 shop (Euro sign not work on this lappy).
Attached on both ends, tried to start car, nothing.
Looked at wire, it was a single strand of copper about 0.0001 mm thick, no wonder they didn't work, seems they where for novelty purposes only:D.
At least I didn't loose a lot of money, I figured I try them and if they do work they're the bargain of the century and if not, no big loss.
Maplins actually do a jump start kit for 40 odd Euro that does work, the GF's car has a faulty alarm that runs the battery down every now and then and she uses it on a weekly basis, she gets three jumps out of it before you recharge it and it has compressor and light.
Very handy if no other car is around.

I paid €28 last night for a set in a topaz station .. GF got stranded after leaving her lights on, I was robbed I know, but what the hell, it's good to have a set in the boot and are decent quality ...
