    Hi all,

I have posted this on the relationship page, think I should have posted it here.

Any help advice will be appricated as I have no idea what to do.

I have broken up with my partner of 10 yrs. We have 2 children together. I have no job (gave up work after having DS and i worked since i left school) as we agreed i was going to look after the children as he worked and could support us all.

Now we have broken up i have no job, no money, no where to go (as the house is his) I have nothing and i dont know what to do. Never thought this would ever happen. He said i can stay in the house but in the long run that is not going to work! I am trying to look for work but caught as i cant afford childcare. He will not pay childcare! He gives me 150 a week for shopping.

O god what can i do??

I imagine you would be entitled to claim one parent family allowance. You may not be entitled to full amount having regard to the fact that you are getting 150 euro per week from the childrens' father. You should contact your local social welfare office who will be able to advise on payments.

Got onto citz advice today, I am can apply for one parent allowance and medical card. But because we are still living together it all changes, I can't get rent allowance unless I have been renting a property for 6 months ( how can I do that if I'm broke) or me and the kids move in with my sister and apply for a council house showing I'm in housing need.

Head is in a muddle with all of it..

you wont get anything if you are still living in the same house, You should get some legal advise about the house as you have been living there with him and the courts might tell him to leave and let you stay there. You can apply for legal aid but there is a waiting list but you will be paying a lot more for private lawer
