Saw them in a shop in Kinsale a couple of weeks ago. The street parallel to the quays, don't know the name of it though

Hunters will cost u about €70. A bit steep if you only want them for Oxegen.
You will get a pair in Dunnes or Pennys for €15.

I got Hunter wellies for oxegen last year and everyone gave out to me that they were too expensive etc. I thought they were well worth the money. My feet were cosy and not sore for the whole weekend. My friend got wellies in dunnes and they only went half way up her legs and she got wet muddy feet! I've wore them loads since oxegen, and my sister also wore them on all her geography and ag science trips and they are still in perfect condition!

If you have the extra money I'd definitely get them!!

Where else have you worn them? Do you share them with your sister too?

    I let her borrow them!

I live in the country so I wear them when I'm walking the dog if it's really wet, my brother does a lot of triathlon's and races around lakes and rivers and I've wore them there, I wore them to electric picnic last summer, Life festival this year and I have them nice and clean for oxegen this year! I definitely think I've got my value out of them after a year and they're guaranteed for 30 years!

If you've got the cash to spare, Hunter wellies are definitely worth the extra few bob, especially if you're going to wear them more than once or twice.

They're really comfy as they've much more cushioning that cheap wellies that you can get in Dunnes or Penny's and your feet won't get sore walking in them all day long. They're also much longer, so there's less chance of mud getting on your jeans/legs/tights/[instert other relevant word here] than with the shorter wellies in Dunnes. Plus, they'll keep your feet really warm during a big freeze! :D

From my own personal experience i think hunters are overpriced rubbish and i would never recommend them. Your better off picking up a pair in Dunnes to tie you over a wekend at oxygen. I had a pair a over 6 months worn approx 5 hours a week walking the dog and the soles on both boots developed two large holes. The rubber used in them is very poor quality and not fit for purpose. They became dangerous very quickly because the grip wore down so bad so fast.
I changed over to Aigle Parcours and they are the most comfortable wellies i have tried, well made, excellent support and they last at roughly the same price.

I lied they were 5 months old and both have two holes each and yes they are stones wedged in the holes. Both the linings at the heal of each boot are also worn to the rubber on the inside. An absolute rubbish product.

Wow... That's some 'wear and tear'! Were you walking on roads/footpaths/stones a lot?

I just went outside to look at my old hunter wellies. I had them for two and a half years and wore them almost every day around the yard at home and they aren't nearly as worn as your boots and the 'terrain' included sandy gravel, 'normal' gravel, muddy fields and muddy and stoney roadways. The only reason I had to stop wearing them is because I stood on a nail and they started to leak. Wet ground + hole in boot = very wet and cold feet! :( Never had an issue with the lining either.

I know I must sound like an advertisement for Hunter, but I've gone through lots of wellies over the years, and they were really the ones that suited me and lasted the best. It's as the saying goes 'different courses for different horses'! :D

I know Oxygen is now over but check out your local co-op for wellies, such as Glanbia, they do a complete range of genuine farmer wellington boots & not a Hunter in sight (too expensive for shovelling sh*t according to my farmer brother :p ) - I've a lovely €10.00 navy pair myself :D
