ok so , went through a rough patch with my ex , i broke up with him twice in a short space of time and i hurt him . it was really stupid of me , we had a great relationship until then , and i just had gotten into a bad place . Never any cheating or anything.
When i realised what i did i got seriously upset . I regreted it so much . He is my world and i love him to bits . I told him how sorry i was and everything , and i went through a period of getting really upset and begging for a chance. He always said no . Now all of a sudden hes giving me a " chance " .. im afraid of messing this up . He told me that he is trying to get his feelings for me back .. How can i go about this >? im freaking out about it .. i mean he is my absolute world and i was in so so much pain when i lost him . it was my own fault aswell . Now he is doing this chance thing, i just hope its for the right reasons that he is doing it and not just because he is bord . .

anyone got any tips on how to go about this so that he can get his feelings back ?

Hi op,glad to heat your getting your 3rd and maybe final chance

Can you honestly say to yourself that you want him back, i.e are you afraid of beeing alone or afraid he;ll move on??

Anyway all i will say is give him some space as well as showing him all the things you never showed before.

yeah - before you do anything at all take a very deep breath and think of the consequences. In particular, try to put yourself in his place and imagine how he'd feel if you said/did what you would have done if you hadn't stopped and thought about it first.

i most definatly want him back . iv spent so in bits over him and i want to give him the world ! i want to just show him how much i love him , how much he means to me . but hes not feeling the same as he did understandably coz i did my damage by breakin it off twice , so he said he is " trying to get his feelings back " ..

Sorry, I really don't want to get in trouble here, but OP haven't you posted about this before? |I'm not giving out, just trying to familiarize myself with the background of this story.

In my opintion, if you are genuinely concerned about this, then all you can do is be there to support him, let him take his time with the relationship and reassure him that you do love him. There is no magic once off cure to make up for that fact that you broke up with him twice.

Of course, there is a limit to this - don't let him take advantage and go OTT with the 'you broke up with me' spiel etc. But it will take time for him to build up trust in the relationship again and feel comfortable so you will have to be patient with him.

    Hi Op,

Take it one step at a time. Don't go over old ground with him. Treat this as if it was the beginning of the relationship, don't get clingy or all loved up with him. Talk with him and enjoy each others company as this is what it is all about. Don't work yourself up about it as nerves can be a killer with things like this. Take some deep breaths and put one foot forward and start anew.

Most of all be patient with yourself and him. Nothing good happens in a hurry.

I wish you the best of luck

    Merlie :)
