I was talking to a mate of mine the other day and he was talking about how he lost his phone etc.. when he rang it someone answered it and said "you left it on the bus" he also said "I'll leave it with the driver" after going to the Dublin Bus lost and found for a week he figured that the plonker kept the phone for himself, I wasn't suprised, I had lost 3 phones in total and out of the 3 I got 2 back, I had lost the Nokia E51 on the 128 and never got it back, it was a bloody good phone, but the other 2 weren't that crap but ok ones and I managed to get them back,

anyone ever lose phones and ever getting them back

Lost 'em a couple of times and got them back, lost them a couple of times and never saw them again.
Have found a couple and returned them by ringing somebody on the phonebook and meeting up with the owner.

i remember my phone got robbed out of my locker in school before, was majorly pissed off the whole day,

then one of me mates gets on the bus, gives me back the phone, saying he found out by railings, he was gonna keep it himself only he noticed the texts he sent to me when he was rooting through it :pac:

Lost my first ever one, the Motorolla Startac when I was about 15. I'm pretty sure my "friend" found it pretty soon after I dropped it. Never saw it again.

Lost my Phone before. Left it on a bus. Was 16 at the time. A few days later I meet him with 2 mates and they intoduce me to these 3 girls. 3 crackers :pac:

And they give me back my phone. T'was delighted. When they were looking through my phonebook they knew somebody that I did and rang him, yada yada yada, met up and got it back.

And no, I failed at getting one of there numbers

    Nice ;D

always losing phones and wallets myself so anytime i find a wallet or phone i always try my hardest to get it back to the original owner. So far i think i've got 2 wallets a paypacket and maybe 4 or 5 phones back to the owners.

If the phones are off or simlocked i'll put in my own sim to try and find messages or numbers anywhere on it to try and get it back. I Did have one phone (old nokia 3320 or something) that i couldn't get back to owner so i dropped it into one of them children charity boxes at work

I'm constantly losing phones, I'd say I've lost about 7 or 8 at this stage, and out of those got 2 back.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,262 ✭✭✭✭GavRedKing

Never lost one, but I have gone through about 3 at this stage by breaking them.

left my phone (couple years old but had contacts and photos on it) in a taxi when on holidays recently. Security guard at hotel and taxi driver were great in arranging to get it back to me. I am a bit more careful with it now

Nah the first time in was in my back pocket and fell into it when i pulled my jeans down. Other 2 times was when i put my open bag at the back of the toilet instead of the floor and it fell on to its side and everything went into the toilet.

All 3 times, the toilet had not been used first.

I gave some guy his phone back last weekend and got a free bottle of wine for doing nothing more than answering a phone. Good Karma is Good!

I havent lost my phone in over six years I went through a stage of losing so many phones in one year i remember losing 9, 3 of those were work phones after the third they said I couldnt have any more.

Then I went on the bill for myself got insurance and havent lost a phone since! Stupid insurance your only useful if i lose my phone:mad:

Never lost a phone but had one robbed on me. Found some guys phone too at the european cross country championships that were on here last year. It was a nightmare trying to find him to give it back but eventually found him and returned it.

If it rang would you answer and have a conversation with someone??

I know people who answer their phones when i rang them and said "Il call you back as im on the loo"..... Then Id go wash my hands!!

I've really bad luck with phones, dropped 2 in the toilet, jumped in a lake with one in my pocket, forgot one at the bus stop, lost one when I was camping,I think I either threw it in the fire or buried it,never saw it again though.:pac:

Forgot mine in a toy shop a few weeks back, was the only one I ever got back.
I think it was because since I've fcuked up every phone I've had,I bought a big old brick phone, won't miss it and no one will nick it!

what if it's a matter of life and death. Or you have no credit? Probably best if you ever need to ring me not to do it between 8 and 9 in the morning and evening. Thats my usual poo time, there can be others through the day but they are my main ones!

Here here! No-one to my knowledge has twigged it. Although, on occasion, the 'echo' might have given it away.

Toilet roll 'padding' of bowl before plop FTW.

Lost my wallet a couple months ago. Had my id in it. Some girl found it and then found me through facebook and gave it back to me.

Many years ago I was walking from work to the bus stop. I was in Dublin 4 at the time and passing the Canal.

I was so sick of my phone that I took out the Sim Card and just tossed it into the canal without hesitation. It wasn't a terrible phone but I couldn't get to grips with it. Didn't like a lot about that phone.

I was earning enough at the time to go out and buy a new one on PAYG that I did like. I didn't make any Insurance claim whatsoever and I loved my new phone.

But I also lost several phones throughout the years, as well as other things

I used to be this girl!! Well maybe not this exact girl, but ykno...

If I lost a phone my firends would just say 'another one??' and got really used to me replying 'whos this?' to messages cuz Id lost all my numbers all the time :D

Expensive habit tho even tho I just got crappy phones, and Ive copped on at last-havent had a new one for about a year (crazy good going for me!)
Only ever got one back (Id left it on a bus) The rest were never to be seen again. I wouldnt like to hazard a guess at how many ive gone thru...

I have found loads of phones tho (where i work people are always losing em) and Ive always rang somebody in their phone book to get it back to them
Sometimes karma just doesnt pay ya back :P

Trawl ceratin websites. It's your duty to look at every porn pic on the internet in an effort to find them and then contact the interweb master (bubbles) to have them removed :)

I found a phone on the street once when i lived in Galway. Went thru the numbers til i found the name "MA", rang her and arranged to meet to give it back.

Not only did she not say thanks, she basically accused me of stealing it in the first place.

So i called her a cnut.

I found a nokia camera fone a few years back, when they wernt all that common. I rang the number in the phone for Ma, who it turned out wasent interested at all. Told me Id have to give his wife a call. Obviously told to do it her self and where he could collect it. The lad turned up a few hours later, barely got a thanks, let alone a few quid. Iv never lost a fone but if I did wud defo give someone a few quid for returning it, only right to show some degree of gratitude
