Short poems

    Some short poems I scribbled down today - probably not any good - but-- here goes:

    Rain dripping on my page;
    the ink streaming across the lines,
    tear streaks forming intricate patterns
    across the sheets.

    Curled in a ball,
    empty can at his feet.
    Weatherbeaten, aged and troubled;
    his face hides behind worn hands.
    Yet against the tree he
    sleeps as peacefully as a child.

    Last day of school;
    kids say bye to their long term friends.
    Each go their seperate ways; some
    ne'er see the other again.
    Yet the names scrawled on their shirts
    serve as everlasting memories.
