What do ye think of the album and the band in general? Loved the first album, catchy riffs and solid lyrics, Inaction and It's a Hit are classics. Apart from the arctic monkeys first album noone catches the young/boozy/college culture better - at least it did for me :). Very disappointed with the second outing. Lyrically it was shocking and had nothing to say, although it had a couple of crackers, namely After Hours and Tonight. They experimented with a more retro sound and it didn't work. This outings sounds more like the original musically, catchy fast guitar sound. Still i'd say overall average at best but more consistent at least. I think they've definitely cornered a sound lyrically and if a bit more edgier, like they showed signs in the first album, they'd be quality!

From the new album check out Jack and Ginger:

And for a old classic (this video is Hilarious)

I really like 'with love and squalor' but never really got around to listening to their other records. General consensus seems to be they never bettered that one though.

However, I heard their name comes from the Cap'nJazz song- so that makes them a bit cool really doesn't it.

Haven't really heard much of the album but I found the few sogns I have heard pretty bland to be honest, nothing much going on. I'll give it a proper listen at some stage though.

New material sounds ok, not as good as 'with love and squalor'. Here's another track from the new album.

And here's my favourite track from 'with love an squalor', which was never released as a single to my knowledge.

I'm after giving the album a few listens now and i'm kind of disappointed. Its not a bad album its just not fantastic either. Totally lacking a standout tune like The Great Escape or After Hours

I bought Barbara yesterday. Returned it today. Awful album, unfortunately. First three tracks are decent and after that it just reaks. With Love And Squalor was so good. This one just doesn't stand up...........
