How much of a claim before the insurance assessor calls out

I recently put a claim in for my broken TV with my incureance company. All they asked for was for me to send out a receipt for the TV and details of what happened to it. I thought that they would send out an assessor but it probably wouldn't pay them to do that.

Does anyone know roughly what the cut off point is before they would send an assessor out?

There is no cut off point. If the paperwork throws up a query or inconsistancy (at any amount), expect a visit. Otherwise, they usually decide to settle on minor claims without a loss adjuster
