first time playing online

so as the title says i hope to be playing my ps3 games online next week so any recommendations

also do ye hold a boards members gaming nights or somthing

rather keep clear from the american kids from what iv read on here

+1 on Modern Warfare 2. Will be frustrating at the start trying to figure things out but once you get into it, it will keep you going a long time. I traded it and got Bad Company 2 but got bored once I unlocked everything. Bought MW2 for a 2nd time (sickened). Best online experience i've had on the PS3.

You wont hear much on PS online games cause of the fact that a headset doesnt come as standard with the PS3. Most of the time i played online its pretty silent compared to the 360. So you needn't worry about those American kids :P

Anti-Rage cream and you're all set.

You can get a cheap bluetooth headest for 15 quid but I never use one for MW2 unless i'm in a friends only game. Only game I think Mic is absolutely needed for is Left 4 Dead which unfortunatley isn't on the PS3.

well i dont have any games mate, there was no point of keeping them because i finished the single player

im getting my broadband next week so im getting prepared

ill be getting Modern Warfare 2 for sure anyway and you'll be the first person ill take on

Im on MAG for shooters at the moment its my favourite but not for everyone. Takes much longer to get into but more rewarding.

Barring the biggies - MW2 and BFBC2 - there's loads of other great online games.

Super Street Fighter IV - as mentioned already, prepare for a whooping first few times though :pac:

Uncharted 2 - very under-appreciated multiplayer, but works extremely well.

Demon's Souls - most unique online experience on PS3. Just possibly not for everyone with very high difficulty and unusually unforgiving game design.

Transformers: War for Cybetron - just out, but I'm having a blast with it online. The MW2 basics applied to Transformers

Red Dead Redemption - for co-op and general Western mayhem!

If u get MW2 be sure to check out the call of duty forum as there are threads to add people with the game. more fun playing with people on your friends list rather than just randomers

bought MW2 and BFBC2 so thanks for the tips just a bummer that iv to down the update for them

anyway i used my 3g broadband to play a fellow boards member (it was a crap connection but when it was ok i enjoyed it but the fellow boards member absolutely destroyed me

Battlefield Bad Company 2 is a must buy. MW2 is good but can be more frustrating and dificult to get into.

Killzone 2 is also great online but is a much different online shooter to the two i mentioned above. It's more of a meatgrinder than the other two.
