iOS 4 3GS - Regular reboots/kill apps required?

    Hi all,

iOS 4 has been running fine for me so far, but I am noticing that it does slow down every few days - anybody getting this?

First time this happened I rebooted - and that sorted it. (Also noticed that apps are still in the mutitasking bar after reboot).

Next time it happened - I killed all apps in the muti-task bar. That seems to be working.

Is there any non-jailbreak task manager type app that tells you how much memory the phone is using

I have a iP4 and have 77 apps in the dock there, never noticed any slow down. Maybe the extra ram helps in that regard.

I very much doubt any non-jailbreak app could do that, Apple don't allow that sort of low-level access to developers.

When I was running the developer seed (before it was issued to everyone else) I found iOS to be quite buggy, I don't think they've fixed it 100% yet.

As for it working fine on iPhone4, well I'm not the slightest bit surprised, the OS is essentially built for it, its other devices like the 3GS, 3G and iPad that are likely to have issues.

iStat can show you how your RAM usage is looking.

Im hoping a future update will give you the option to turn on/off multi-tasking. Im probably in the minority, but I cant stand it.

Just installed also - looks like apps that do not support mutitasking are not using any memory

Besides the Apple apps, the only app I have that supports muti-tasking is Flight Control, and sure enough it is using memory (2235).

So does this mean when more apps support muti-tasking there is potential for this to get worse? Looks like it to me.
