This could be a fun form of assisted suicide!

I drove the single seaters in Mondello and even having had some (admittedly limited) experience with racing in the past I found them tricky to handle. An F3000 car was at one point one step down from an F1 car; Im not joking when I say most people would do well to get the thing out of the pits, let alone keep it in one piece for any length of time on the track!

Not to say I wouldnt give my eye teeth to drive one; even if I did wrap it around a tirewall after two minutes it would be so worth it!!!

If the driver is sensible and receives good instruction then I don't see the problem. Obviously they won't come anywhere close to driving the car near its limits. They'll also probably scare the sh1t out of themselves a few times while going (relatively) very slowly. PS I assume it is the "new" Nurburgring that they'd be using.

These sort of courses have been going for many years, one I heard of was in France where you got to drive an AGS F1 car from the early nineties. A crap car by F1 standards but around a track would still destroy any road car ever made.

I know it's not the same thing but rallyschool Ireland will let you drive a Metro 6R4 and Palmersport in the UK have a variety of cars including single seaters

0-60 in 3.1 secs, a muppet could do plenty of damage in one of those if the course wasn't well organised

As BrianD3 says, it's almost certainly the new Nürburgring and not the Nordschleife that they're referring to.

Also, even if it was the Nordschleife, I'd suggest that even an experienced single seat racer approach it with serious caution. The surface bumps and damage on the ring are quite likely something that they'd not have experienced much at race speed before.

there is no way in the world anything but an experienced driver should attempt the full 'ring in something like a F3000 motor, taking in the lenght of the track, the lumps and bumps, the assortment of other cars on the track etc .....

I have actually driven the Formula Jag at the palmer sport

before they were paddle shift, and it was quite daunting even on a track with only 4 other identical cars, fairly simple turns and only one short enough straight .....

Doesnt mention Nordschleife tbf so Id imagine its the modern Nurburgring.

Id love a crack at Lausitz, especially the oval.

No way in hell its the nordschelife. I wouldn't put a noob in a FF Zetec around that track, never mind an F3000. F3000 a full blown race car, you cant compare this to ANYTHING thats at a typical race "school". Like lightning said, taking it "easy" wont cut it. It's designed to be driven fast and only fast by a skilled and experienced driver. These kind of cars are equally dangerous when driven slowly on cold tyres.
