mk 4 golf window question

    hi i have a mk4 golf 3 door and the winbdow wont go up tries to but get stuck and goes down

    i think its a clip that holds the glass...

    anyone have issues with this and can you get the clips from volkswagen?

    Is the glass loose? Is it making any funny noises? From memory, if you hold the switch up you'll override the anti-trap feature on the window - this will only work if there's nothing mechanically amiss.

    the glass moves side to side... it like it is getting stuck on the guides as it moves up ie dragged up from one side not evenly... only noise is motor struggling as it goes up, needs alot more force..

    i think the clips as the windows wiggles a bit and mk4's are known for window issues.

    wonder if its a big job to replace

    It happens a friends Mk4 too, you've to hold the button and push the window up as well...

    He lubed up the channels and it worked fine for awhile and then it went back the same way again.
