    Hi,

I was in the gym for an hr on monday evening and felt fine yesterday - if a little sore.
However, this morning I am just shattered! Slept about 8hrs last night so cannot understand how I can be so tired.
This seems to be the case for 1 or 2 days each week.

    Any ideas why?

    Thanks!

    Hi There

First thing I would ask is what's your diet and hydration like, especially after your workouts.

In this weather it is easy to become dehydrated in the gym, so you should be drinking throughout your workout and make sure you hydrate properly after your workout.

Also you should be eating some carbs & protein after your workout to help with recovery.

    Best Regards,

    M

    Hi,
I drank about 1.5l of water during the gym session. Another 0.5l after.
It was a bit late after so I had beans and waffles with a pint of milk mixed with casein protein powder.
That was on Monday. I felt fine on Tuesday. But today I feel jaded.
Yesterday I had porridge for breakfast. Toast mid-morning. Chicken sandwich for lunch. And Chicken stirfry for dinner.

    Thanks.

    Is that your full diet?

Probably not enough food in general, and certainly not enough veg. Eat fruit (berries) as well.

I'd go for whey + simple carbs post workout not casein, casein is a slow protein, whey gets there faster.

As far as water is concerned I'd drink anything between 3 and 5 litres in the gym these days but that could just be me, I take one or 2 sips between sets.

I'd say take a good multivit also.

Are you married? They say if yer wife is tossing and turning, you may well be sleeping you may not be able to achieve deep sleep, which leaves you shagged in the morning.

You could just need more carbs as was said. Your body needs time to recover after what you have done to it. While you were sleeping your muscles were working - its not surprising that you are tired! Keep eating well and it will pass.

What do you suggest? Shag her before you go to sleep so she won't be tossing and turning?:)

Here would be my full diet...
Breakfast 8.30am - Porridge with banana. Pint of water(with ginseng tablet)
Mid Morning 11am - 2 slices of brown toast with tea. Apple and Orange after.
1litre of water drank up to lunch
Lunch 1.30pm - Brown bread sandwich with butter, chicken, cheese, lettuce, cucumber. And mug of tea.
Mid afternoon - apple and orange.
    Evening - 6pm - tea and a chocolate bar
Dinner 8/9pm - chicken stirfry / pasta / beans&waffles / scrambled eggs / fish with potatoes and salad.
If hungry later at night, a bowl of cereal.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks.

Went for a run again last night. Slept well but still feeling very tired today.
Drank litre of water during run. few glasses after. Pint of casein with milk afterwards. As well as chicken noodles for dinner.

    Any advice?
    Thanks.

This morning I feel absolutely shattered. Had a good nights sleep(8hrs) but feel I could easily fall asleep now!
Yesterday too, I felt very tired.

    Anyone with similar problem?

    Hi There

What did you do in the gym last night? what time did you get to bed last night and what time did you awake this morning?

In my honest but unqualified & non professional opinion it might be time to have a chat about your tiredness with your GP and ask for a full blood work up. Just to rule out any medical causes like low iron, anemia etc

    Best Regards,

    M

hey K09 im having a similar problem,

I normally go to they gym 4 times a week , walk the dog for an hour twice and horse ride for an hour once a week. I eat well, lots of nutrient dense foods like chicken, fish, beef, sweet potatoes, spinach, broccoli, berries, yoghurt and granola.

But i just feel knackered this week, im sleeping 8-10 hours a night, but instead of going to the gym this afternoon I just went to bed and slept for 2 hours. I dunno what is wrong with me, do you think maybe you are coming down with something?

The only other thing I can thing of is that im doing lots of strength training so maybe i need something to help me recover??

Me too, time for a deload week.
Do the same as you usually do in the gym next week but just use half the weight you usually do. Should help your body to recover...
