Does this plumbing look right to you?

Its a Franke stainless bowl and a half sink with the dishwasher pipe plumbed in aswell.

Now,I had wanted to put in a shelf or an under press sliding bin system, but I cant due to the way the plumber did this on me?

Is this right or should it be more neater and space saving??

Is there any need for 2 seperate traps, surely not and surely it could be done smaller and neater??

    Thanks.

Franki do a double bowl manifold waste system but it would have to be specified by the kitchen company not the plumber. The plumber had to work with what he was presented with and it looks quite neat to me. The half bowel needed a trap and so dose the main bowel and the dishwasher or whatever it is had to be accommodated to and he even put a cleaning eye in too which is good practice. Belive me I have seen worse.

I had to do this myself earlier this year with my own kitchen.

Try two adjustable waste traps, a T and a few bits of pipe, should be easier. You can also get waste traps that have an inlet for a dishwasher.

I don't disagree that its functional, but it certainly could have been done a lot lot neater with a bit more effort.

Thats what I was thinking and also wondering. Its not neat and it doesnt allow me to put in a shelf or even a small sliding waste bin system.:(

Not happy with it to be perfectly honest.

I had the same problem. Use 2 s traps to bring the pipe to the back of the unit and then bring a waste pipe slightly off horz down to an elbow.

It gives you enough room for the shelf

Well its amazing what can happen when you complain.

Plumber was back today and the job he did this time is top notch, only 1 trap and the pipework is all screw type fittings. He got the specific Franke plumbing kit that is made for the Franke ASX bowl and a half sink.

Plenty of space now for a shelf or sliding under counter bin unit.

Im happy again,so too is my girlfriend.:)

To be fair, you have a good plumber there. He did an OK job first time around but was willing to change it as you were unhappy. Fair play to him.

I just did not like the way he mixed screw on parts with old dirty pipe that he found in his car and then it all needed needed pipe glue.It looked like it was done by someone like me.

The traps that he fitted 1st time around were too low to allow a shelf or even a small bin to go under the sink,so that would have been a complate waste of space (800mm cabinet).

But its sorted now and its a hell of alot neater and much more compact now than it was before.

We can put in a sliding bin system now and not have a bin on the kitchen floor which looks unsightly to me.

This is why women make better plumbers. They have a better concept of space utilisation.

although i agree with mickey the job was excellent and as for using pipe...its no harm really...

The plumber had a bit of a go at me,and I stood my ground on the matter, but he wouldnt or dare not say a word to my girlfriend,as I think he knew, that she wouldnt back down. She stated her point from the word go and I think he then knew that we would not be push overs.

I didnt and wouldnt back down either.Im not one for backing down, until a job is done propperly and look good too.

But Im glad its sorted.Just have to go up to Ikea or back to In House now for a sliding bin system.:)

much more tidy and neater looking.:)

Space for a sliding cleaning/detergent rack and a sliding bin system too.

The pins for the shelf still look higher than the trap.

Its just a bad camera angle,as is usual with me.;)

Shelf just about scrapes in (barely).

Im not bothered with a shelf really.I have plenty of space for a sliding bin syatem and also metal a pull out detergent basket rail too.

I dont want a bin out on the kitchen floor,so thats why I asked the plumber to re-plumb the sink for me.
