A week should be fine - whatever speed the decision is made often if there is a second choice candidate they will wait to reject them until first choice has confirmed and signed up.

Maybe not hearing too fast is a good thing - there is no harm to ask whether a decision has been reached after a week, just be polite, the7y may still be considering you...
