Most of the acclaimed British comedies from the 90's weren't funny, or have aged terribly!

Keeping Up Appearances, Absolutely Fabulous, The Vicar Of Dibley, The Thin Blue Line, Coupling (etc.) Hate them all!

I will agree with KUA, TVOD and Coupling but they were bad in the 1990s in fairness.

I think AbFab still has a bit of fun in it, mainly down to the cast but also some of the situations, but it was bound to age since it is all about the style of that era.

TTBL isn't bad again I think its down to the cast and the one liners.

Sorry for abvr. everything there. :)

Have you seen Ab Fab recently? It's really aged horrifically.. it's one of those shows that I think people watched with rose-tinted glasses. People lauded Joanne Lumley as some sort of comedic genius... far fecking from it IMO!

The Thin Blue Line wasn't awful.. as both Rowan Atkinson and James Dreyfus always put in great performances.

But look at comedies of the 80's on BBC - they were vastly superior.. stuff like Red Dwarf, Black Adder, The Young Ones to name just 3.

Yeah you would have to wonder how KUA got past season 2.. it's the same story over and over.. God bless the guy who plays Emmett in that show.. same lines every show.

Red Dwarf isn't good, I find it horrific. I was just watching AbFab on Gold yesterday, Joanne Lumley does put in a good performance. But yes it had aged. She is a good comic actress. Comic Genius no.

As Time Goes By on the other hand hasn't really aged its just very bad.

I wonder how it got past 2 episodes.
