Double Dip?

Comments

To be honest I think the "Double Dip" has happened. From Mar - Nov last year stocks, commodities and practically every financial instrument rallied. The double dip has came as the opposite effect has been seen from NOV 09 - JUN 10.

I think a rally is due soon and will put an end to the scare mongering. With regards to the gold investment I think half of the 15k is more than enough.

Good luck with your investment choices.

Hey Thargor. Have you got yourself a portfolio of stocks you are watching? You will learn quite a bit from watching their progress alone and that way work out when is best time to invest.

    Take your time.

Yeah I have, its mostly wind energy, renewables, GLD and some others. I was just wondering because articles like that seem to be everywhere all of a sudden, I know they always were since the recession started but their frequency seems to have ramped up a lot recently.

a double dip is a certainty. as usual the boys on bloomberg etc are out saying that china is in for a soft landing (just like subprime and irish economy was in for). chinese stocks tell a very very different story. they are going to come down hard, this will knock demand for commodites hugely, this in turn will slow down australias economy.

all the austerity measures in europe are going to ensure we go no where fast. usa housing market is also in for a double dip and house prices all over the world will continue to fall.

we are experiencing deflation now and this will be the main theme for 12-24 months

I told you so.... we saw a rally coming into the second quarter. :D

Hey mickman... Try to be more contemporary. Had you believed in your own words then you would have short sold everything, as it stands you would be at a loss. I am in a profit and can short sell into the following correction risk free.

i do believe in my own words and i didnt short until yesterday in fact when the markets had staged this low volume wedging rally right up into a down sloping trend line. now im short and as of this morning im in profit so dont make assumptions that my positiions are in a loss. i never said in my last post that i had any positions

It is not any of my business how yourself or anyone else manages their money. I think your misunderstanding the situation.

Monday might stage another bullish move. A bit vicious this rally if it continues.

Oh, Well isn't that more technical and news related than obvious. Harder to decipher but isn't that always a factor in a correction the not being sure.

Misunderstand what. My shorts are in profit .
I don't try to predict short term moves ad that's a fools game. The indicators I use tell me the longer term trend is down so I went short. My position is profitable so it's right. I don't care what happens on a day by day basis

Hey Guys ..Have to bump this thread.

What are the ecomnomic indicators telling us. Are the bears being maimed again or will they have their day. I am hoping we don't have a new high on the DOW and that we roll down into august.

What do you folks think is going to happen with this present Rally. I know we have more earnings to get through but we kind of knew they were going to be relatively good. However i have heard 2011 might not be so good.

It also depends on 2011 whether we decline or rise with rallies here and there.

Do people think 2011 will be a good year for USA and Europe and where is China and South America going?
