Extended AppleCare in Ireland

I can definitely recommend the 3-year plan if you're forking over for a MacBook Pro and a serious user. I wore out the battery on mine and had it replaced for free along with some other little things done to it for free. But all that was in the US.

How does AppleCare work in ireland with no Apple Store? Do you just take it to an authorized reseller? I think there's only actually a handful?

(To be honest, there are quality issues at times with Apple hardware in Europe (you can check with www.eccireland.ie or read Paul Cullen's article in the Irish Times of Wednesday, May 30, 2007 "Consumer body reports more Apple complaints", thanks), so I know I'll need AppleCare.)

There's a few: Typetec, Mactivate, Evad and Compub.

Or alternatively, Apple will send a courier to collect it. But obviously this takes longer.

To be fair, all computer manufacturers have quality issues. Mass production makes things affordable but at a price.
