Low cut black converse man, they are very much still in fashion among us youths ;)

i wear both and tbh as much as it pains me to say it... you've more of a chance of looking like a scumbag wearing adidas than you do wearing cons.

was never a fan of hi-top cons either tbh, found them too much effort - yes i'm that lazy - and always opted for the low-top cons.

    Thanks for the replys guys

I'll go with the low heel converse then :)
I was a bit worried if they would look crap with straight fit jeans,as most of my jeans are straight leg

I mostly seen guys with skinny jeans wearing them ,and I've only one slim pair, so didn't want to be splashing out on more jeans as I'm a broke student :pac:

Personally, I prefer Converse. Low Tops look good with ankle grazers (think Vans ads) while High Tops look good underneath full length skinny jeans. And yes, Converse are still very popular

I prefer Adidas as they are much more comfortable - because they give your feet more support. (although leather converse are better in this regard, but very hard to find in ireland)

Cons will always be in fashion.

Converse all the way! They actually go with everything skirts, jeans, shorts etc. I love them and the colours are so fun you will always be able to match them. I find them so comfy too.

Personally I associate Converse with either:

    - Wannabe arty students who take wideangle black and white photos of a park bench's shadow, but actually have no idea what theyre doing and will ultimately just end up working in a clothes shop for their lives

    or

    - Guys who think the raggy scarf look is cool, thus meaning they are not!

Having said that, a good bunch of my mates have them and they all pull them off well. I just have that association in my head, and it aint ever gonna be shaken!

    Addidas y3 > Converse IMO ;)

    Hey

I want to get a new pair of trainers
I was thinking of a pair of converse , which looks better these

    http://ie.schuh.co.uk/converse/mens-black-converse-all-star-hi-top-black/3401407070/

    or these

    http://ie.schuh.co.uk/converse/mens-black-converse-all-star-lo-black/3401397070/

    Is converse still in fashion?
Do they go with straight leg jeans? I have one pair of cool diesel gold slim fit jeans that I got in TK maxx for 50 euro (originally 300 euro) anyway, these are more of a slim fit ,as I wouldn't call them skinny as they are not welded on to me

Or should I stick to adidas to be safe

    http://ie.schuh.co.uk/adidas/mens-grey-adidas-spezial/3401347550/

I'm a guy by the way,
    Thanks for the replies

Without a douth the converse, but not the high top ones. they look fantastic on anyone.

Jaysus I hate Converse with a passion, I think they're rotten.
    Adidas all the way.

    Same.

I had a pair of converse years ago and only wore them twice as I thought they looked horrible.

That pair of Adidas are horrible :/

    Adidas.

I'm biased though. Adidas are classics - right across age and subculture, whereas I associate Converse with teenagers, students and posers.

Not really into the CW of the Adidas in that picture though.

And Cons aren't? They've been incredibly popular in that exact style since the 80's when they were originally meant to be basketball shoes. My mom had a pair of Cons for something like 15 years.

If Cons don't span age and subculture I'm not sure what do-- originally athlete's shoes, to the punk movement, to grunge, to indie, or just your average person, of nearly any age. I know a guy in his 50's who swears by his bright red cons and they suit him down to the ground. Cons are absolutely deadly, they're my only pair of shoes (yes, I'm a girl and I only own one pair of shoes) and I wouldn't have it any other way. Durable, reliable, cool-looking, comfortable.

Always love a guy in Cons, too..

Adidas, on the other hand, make some absolutely hideous-looking shoes. I can't stand them, associate them with scumbags here in Ireland or white dudes in basketball shorts trying to be black back in North America. Unappealing, at best.

Never been a fan of Converse - and I'm quite a sneaker freak. Converse just don't float my boat.

But OP - the answer is to get whichever pair you prefer.

You shouldn't wear them; you should sleep with them by the sounds of it?

If the Addias weren't grey they'd look better.
Still prefer low top Converse though, they look good on everyone and go with practically everything.

    Harsh.

Hi-top brightly coloured converse are still very much in fashion with those of us around the 30-year old mark. At least those of us who still remember the 80's fondly.

Addidas are comfier due to more padding etc, but cons are a classic. They have a nice re-issue series out in Schuh that are lovely - low tops with the aul one star. Yum. Hard to find sometimes, generally they have low tops with a star (which makes me sad).
