Broken Eject Button

My PS3 got the infamous YLOD a couple of days ago (60GB model, bought November '07), but I have fixed that myself using the heating gun method and applying new thermal paste to the GPU and CPU.

I then fixed my PS3 back up, and now the eject button does not work. This isn't necessarily a big problem as you're able to eject discs with a controller anyway, but I would prefer if it was working.

And yes, it's definitely the eject button. I have tried pressing the button with the top cover of the PS3 taken off (Can't get electrocuted, it's safe), and it didn't respond.

So has anybody had this problem and was it resolved? Or should I just buy a new Power/Eject board?

Should mention, the power button works fine.

Never had a problem...yet, but they are cheap to buy on ebay: http://compare.ebay.com/sony-playstation-3-power-eject-button-board-and-cable/like/150410345612.

As for replacing it, I can't imagine it is hard to do.

There's definitely no problem replacing it, just remove four screws and a ribbon cable. :D

And thanks for the eBay link, I'm probably better off just buying a new one.

Had a bit of searching for a solution for this earlier, apart from the ebay link if there is any visible damage on the ribbon cable you could try and repair that.
