Where abouts in Cavan are you Based 422nd ? Have you got a band and are looking for a Bass Player , Are you doing Origionals or Covers

Not far from Cavan town. I'm looking for a band myself, but that's a tougher task then it should be. So now I'm just keeping an eye out to perhaps grab some people in the same situation as myself and get something started. Although I have slim to none gigging experience unlike yourself. And I'd probably be looking to start out and grow with other first timers. To be honest i was sort of just putting the question to you because I'm sure some one else was going to at some point. And with-holding where you're from isn't the best idea. If i read through a thread like that and some one hasn't got location mentioned, I'd assume that they're in Dublin, because most people that don't put in location seem to think it a given that everyone's in Dublin, and therefore probably just move on without posting. So where are you based roughly, before i can decide whether or not to consider this any further. Oh and an age would be good too. No one wants to really be working with some one 10 or more years older or younger then them.

    Just a few points ,
Firstly i dont think you read my origional post , i said i was looking for a gigging covers band . By your own admision you dont have a band so what are you doing posting on my thread !!!!
Secondly you also say that you have slim to no gigging expierence so how can you be the judge of what age of a person makes a good musician , you are giving me your opinion of what you are looking for in a band , not what i am looking for . Im prepared to (and have) played with musicians aged from 15 to 50 and beyond , age is of no importance provided the musician can do what is being asked of him/her .
If you look at how many people have clicked on my thread (over 100) you will see that you are the only person who has mentioned such an irrelavent thing . Also If im prepared to travel from Belfast to Cork or Galway to Dublin then thats my business not the bands or yours .Once im there for rehearsals and gigs thats all that matters.
Dont assume that people who dont put a location are always from Dublin, to assume makes an (ASS of U and ME) . Im well aware that i dont have a location but go back and read the post and see what else i have said .
Now if i can give you a piece of advice , if you want to be successfull in finding musicians to work with then you need to be prepared to get in your car (or bus) and travel otherwise you will be sitting in your bedroom playing by yourself for along time.

Not sure if its any of my buisness, or if my opinion is goining to be welcome here. But I also assumed that you were in Dublin because you didnt specify location. People who dont specify location always seem to be in Dublin! So I clicked away! Eh, age is also important to post, you dont seem to mind what age group you play with, but not everybody thinks or feels the same. Its also a good indication of what to expect in so far as musicianship. And, just my opion, but a little less attitude helps too. I feel like I wanna give 422nd a hug and tell him everythings gonna be ok! :P

Looks like I'm not the only one making these points then. And I have the dedication to travel. It was you who used the words 'within reason'. So not only are you making out like you're only dedicated enough to travel a certain distance, but your attitude stinks man. I was trying to help. I've seen mods say the exact same thing to people about giving the right information on these band-searching theads. So I retract my helpful questions and politely wish you no luck what so ever in your future endeavours as I honestly don't see who would want to work with some one who jumps down some one elses throat for asking some basic questions.

    /my helpful participation in thread
