    Hi All.

I'm planning to rip up old carpet from the stairs and landing. We plan on re-decorating in the medium term, so this is a bit of a stop gap, we just cant bear looking at the current carpet any longer, it's old and dirty. So my plan was to give it a bit of a light sanding, and to paint it all white using the proper paint. The only other alternative I can think of is to stain it, but it would then probably need a better sanding than I'm prepared to give it.

Anyone have any experience in doing this? Thoughts and suggestions welcome.

    Thanks Tiger.

Can you tell me where you got the stain & lacker if you got a good deal on it, and the sander too, I need to do this at rock bottom prices!
