    Hi all,

Im flying Cork to LA with conection in Heathrow on Wednesday.
Cork to London is Aer Lingus
London to LA is with Virgein Atlantic.
All booked on the one ticket.

Virgin will allow 23kg suitcase to be checked free of charge, so do Aer Lingus have to allow me the 23kg also when checking the baggage all the way through to LA??

    Thanks.

Yes, you will get the Virgin Atlantic allowance as it's on one ticket.

On one ticket with who though? I am not convinced you will be even able to check your luggage all the way through, never mind the weight allowances. I would check it out. Hopefully I am totally wrong, don't mean to scare you.

If you don't know what you're talking about you really shouldn't post with hypotheticals.

Buffybot is correct, end of story.

Once it's one ticket you are fine and the baggage will be (a) checked through and (b) be the higher weight allowance. I often fly Dublin -> Amsterdam -> Houston with KLM. The Dublin -> Amsterdam flight is operated by Aer Lingus but you still get the allowances as per KLM international flights.
