Night duty

I'm wondering if people have any advice on the minimal turn-around time after night duty. I'm working on a rolling roster and am changing jobs/company this week. Heretofore I would have been on a 6 week cycle, with 1 week of night duty (M-F midnight-8, Sa-Su 8pm-8am) followed by "a week off after nights" which did not impact on annual leave entitlements.

My new job is still on a rolling roster, with a 4 week cycle. Instead of doing a week of nights the night shifts are broken up. For example, a proposed week has Mon-Tue midday-8pm, Wed-Thur 8pm-8am, Fri "off", Sat-Sun 8am-8pm. (I put Friday "off" because even though I'm not rostered for a shift that day I will have worked midnight to 8am. The following week has me on days Mon-Fri (48 hours)

The average working week over the cycle of the roster is 45 hours. This is acceptable. However, I do have a problem with doing 2 12-hour nights and then coming back the following day for a 12-hour day shift.

    Any advice?

As far as I'm aware it is only the standard 11h between shifts (which is a pain going from night to day since as you noted lose a day) and 24h rest once per week.
