hi just bought a stanley oisin non boiler solid fuel stove, have an unlined chimney so ive bought a basic roll of flexi pipe, my question is when the flexi pipe is installed in the chimney is there another pipe to connect to the back of the stove to meet the felxi flue pipe or does the flexi pipe connect straight to the back of the stove? thanks!

there is an adaptor to go from the flexi flu liner to the top of the stove. the liner i used was 9'' and the adaptor reduced it down to 6'' and all the joints were sealed with fire cement. got mine in bohills in drogheda but not sure if they are still open.

The flexi flue liner should be the same size as the spigot opening on ths stove.

If your stove opening is 6 inches, then you use a 6 inch flue. You are supposed to have around 20mm gap/distance all round between the flexi flue liner and the existing concrete or clay chimney flue. You then back fill that gap with insulation like vermiculite.

You should need to install a register plate so that the flue is blocked off and stops any vermiculite or dirt falling down the chimney and clogging up the stove/fireplace area.

The register plate and vermiculite also helps to keep the heat in the fireplace and also in your room too.It prevents cold air and debris from comming down the chimney.
