I usually deleted all browsing infomation and temporary internet files on a regular basis, as well as updating Norton and running scans (using Windows software) just to try to keep the machine clean. However, this week I find that there are a handfull of temporary internet files that will not delete after browsing through google. Anybody know what this is about? How to delete? Scan shows no virus...

    run this

    Download TFC to your desktop
    • Open the file and close any other windows.
    • It will close all programs itself when run, make sure to let it run uninterrupted.
    • Click the Start button to begin the process. The program should not take long to finish its job
    • Once its finished it should reboot your machine, if not, do this yourself to ensure a complete clean

As you may well imagine, I approach this with some caution. Can you explain briefly (to a non-techie) what this .exe programme is, what it is meant to do, and perhaps some indication of its origins? That is to say, who wrote it and who vets it as bona fide? It's not that I doubt your intentions, but having got one problem I don't understand, I want to be careful not to get myself another. No offence...
Is this something that can be run again, or should be done regularly? Is it compatible with Windows XP? Why will these temp. files do not go away when I highlight them and hit delete?
