    Hi,
I have UPC/NTL max pack, phone,tv,and broadband but I only have one horrible Siemens gigaset cordless phone which is crap really. Aldi /Lidl do better ones for €25. I want to have 3 or 4 cordless phones in the house to avoid racing to get downstairs or up stairs to get the phone when it rings.....I'm a bit slow on my feet.

How many phones will the UPC box support......I see 2 RJ11 connectors on the back of thew box but only 1 is live. Its simpler to mail boards than to sit through the hours of interminable answering machine messages on UPCs help line.

Get a set in Argos 4 phones and yes only one jack is active thats all you need.

The 2nd jack is for a 2nd number if you want.

One charger is the base station the other 3 are just chargers.

Depending on the suppliers phones, some DECT systems can support up to 6 handsets (don't all have to be from the same supplier either, long as they are GAP compliant).

If you need more, you could hook up more base stations, maybe up to 18 handsets, though each handset would only be "paired" with 1 (of 3) base stations. Most RJ11 ports support more than one phone, long as you don't exceed the REN value.

NOTE: regardless of the # of handsets, only 1 can use the PSTN phone line at a time.
