Health is the New Politics

    Search this forum for "health" and search for "politics".

    Which gets the most hits? Health.

    Health is the new Politics.

    Our Government and our Church (regardless of which side you believe in) are morally bankrupt. They cannot manipulate us like they manipulated our parents and grandparents, because we can think for ourselves.

    In the absence of dogma and idealogy the powers that be (not the puppets but the real powers) have decided that health occupies the high moral ground. Your health, my health, our children's health and even our grandchildrens' health. Now who could argue with that?

    Our very existance is damaging the atmospehre.

    New politico/health rules for being a good citizen:

    * Don't drive.

    * Don't drink.

    * Don't smoke.

    * Don't eat at McD

    * Don't get sick

    * Don't get yourself unemployed

    * Don't get old

    * Don't get born

    There's a lot of Healthy advice you can follow:

    * Eat sensibly

    * Drink in moderation

    * Be Responisible

    * Be Controlled

    * Be Controlled

    * Be Controlled

    You know you want to.

    DitS.

    It's kind of life and death OP, health that is.

    In respect of it being a hot topic on Boards, well just look at it from time to time and you'll see that each week or fortnight has it's hot topic:
    -union bashing
    -public service bashing
    -ff bashing
    -bank bashing

    Do the search.

    Make your own mind up.

    I'm not sure what you're trying to say/prove Dub in the ....
    Posters here post things in the 'politics' forum other than 'politics', sometimes even things nothing whatever to do with politics.

    Who are these 'powers that be' that you refer to???

    Dub in the Sticks: There is a conspiracy forum elsewhere.
    Between these vague posts and others in threads in this Politics section, it clear you might find the replies what your clearly seeking, there.

    Hmmm... Think what he is trying to say is, take charge of your own situation.

    Look after your own health.

    I'm sure he is saying that sucking back 20 pints at the weekend,inhaling 100 ciggies, ingesting 4 or 5 takeaways and expecting the HSE to bail you out is OK?

    I think that's what he is saying:cool:

    I'm not sure what the point of this thread is or how it's relevant to the Politics forum. Nor am I sure where to move it to, or if it'd be relevant anywhere.

    But I also know that searching for the keyword "health" and then for "politics" on the forum causes the search to produce more than the max 500 terms in each case. Limiting it to the parent forum only and doing a title-only search for each word produces far more for "politics" than for "health". This being the Politics forum, one would expect less posting members to use the name of the forum in their posts than the specific aspect of politics about which they're posting so I'm unsure where the initial premise comes from, as well as the applicability of it indicating anything. I know we have a lot of posts though.

    There isn't really a discussion here based on the OP. I suggest taking whatever point is in there and after dressing it up, taking it to one of the relevant health forums in the Sci category if there's a discussion to be had.
